This is the best case I've found its not bulky, it doesn't have that annoying rubber around the edge of case that makes it a pain to get in and out of your pocket. And OtterBox customer services and warranty policy is a perfect example of how a company should stand behind their products. After having my cracked case replaced under warranty no questions ask, I'm a OtterBox customer for life. OtterBox maybe a bit more $ than other brands but its worth the $ for the BEST.
This is my second OtterBox phone case. Like its predecessor, it offers fantastic protection for the phone without being too bulky. In fact, it makes the very slim Galaxy S3 feel much more substantial and secure in the hand, while helping it slide easily in and out of the pocket. It also fits the phone extremely well. The included screen protector is very effective, with good optical clarity and tactile properties. I can only think of two areas where this case needs improvement. When new, the power and volume button covers were extremely stiff, making it difficult to actuate these controls. Perhaps a different design or rubber compound for the inner liner of the case would solve this problem. Like most men, I carry my phone in a front pants pocket. The abrasion from pocket carry eventually led to thinning and subsequent tearing of the power button cover, making it more difficult and then nearly impossible to actuate the power button. Once again, this might be rectified through reformulation of the rubber used for the soft protective layer of the case. This unfortunate flaw did, however, allow me to experience OtterBox's superior customer service. Their web-based warranty request service and follow-up throughout the process is first-class.
Pros: High quality, offers excellent protection from drops and bumps, feels substantial, excellent fit on the phone
I love that this case protects my phone. It has taken many bounces off the ground in my Otter Box and I never have to worry if I'll pick up the phone and find it broken. The case has taken the brunt of the abuse, and only the corners of the harder case have broken off. The covers for the headphone jack and USB did wear and break off first, but I was okay with taking them off. I can see how another customer might be concerned about that.
I really appreciate Otter Box's warranty. Thank you Otter Box for taking care of my phone and me as a customer.
I thought the screen was cracked but when I took off the thin protective screen cover...good as new. Otterbox replaced my cracked cover and I received it in about 3 days. Great warranty, better than expected product! Thank-you, all my future devices will be protected by Otterbox.
I do recommend otter box, but maybe not this model. The volume and power buttons are a somewhat hard to press. You litterly have to hold it tight so it doesn't slip out of your hand when pressing them.
Pros: Durable, dependable
Cons: slippery in hand when pressing buttons

Great product, wonderful customer service, timely warranty exchanges.
My commuter series case for my Samsung s3 had a small crack in it after about a year of use. Decided to just check with the company to see if I had a leg to stand on as far as getting a new case because of it. I sent in a pic and that same day they emailed me saying that a new case was being sent out at no charge. I was rather surprised it was that easy to replace my bad case but they do seems to stand behind their products 100%. I work for BestBuy, which I didn't tell them when I was asking what I could do with my broken case. I can tell you that because of this great experience, I will definitely be telling people that Otter Box is the way to go for your protection needs. Thanks guys!
Pros: High quality, Durable, great customer service
Keep in mind that these people back up their products like no one I've ever dealt with. They're the poster children for great customer service!
My Commuter gives excellent protection, but you pay a "price" for this peace of mind. The rubber exterior is great for keeping your phone on the dash board of your car, but it makes tapping the edge of your contact page difficult. Small problem. The clip that holds your Commuter to your belt breaks fairly easily if it gets caught on something. Big problem. Yes, they'll send you a new one if that happens, but that's a pain while you wait for your new one.
It's not too thick, but not too flimsy. Protects the phone well. A couple of problems: taking the case off is extremely hard, due to the design of the plastic shell. Removal requires bending it off of the plastic case, leading to pressure cracks. I have already gotten a warranty replacement on a case that was less than 6 months old that cracked due to this problem. The second is that the buttons are almost impossible to push while the case is new. I'm not sure if you just have to get used to it, or whether the rubber actually wears away, but that is quite a hinderance.
Pros: High quality, thin & light
Cons: considerable design flaws

Love my OtterBox. No hassle replacement. Children and I all have OtterBoxes for our phones.
I have always recommended Otterbox if someone asks. I researched all sorts of different protective cases for my phone before deciding on Otterbox. Ever since I got that first one, I have always gone with them since and find several different stories from other people as well how it saved their phone. With smart phones being so expensive and fragile these days, it is a must to protect yourself. With them getting smaller and more ports the cases are going to be harder for Otterbox to make. Keep up the good work Otterbox! Huge fan.
The Commuter is a good, quality case. It's only slightly slimmer than the Defender in regards to bulk. They are both large covers, but that is what you get with Otterbox, protection. There is no such thing as thin protection. However, the Commuter is very hard to remove. The Defender is actually easier. It is quite a struggle to get the outer polycarbonate off the inner silicone. If you do not intend to take your case off, then this wouldn't be a big issue. Other than that, great case.
Very high quality materials and protection. Easy to assemble. The only trouble I have had is the on/off button on the side of my Samsung Galaxy 3 (which is protected by a "button" covering on the Commuter case). It is difficult to depress with my finger. Perhaps it is just due to my hand strength? Otherwise, nice case and I am happy to finally have something nice!
